Product inquiry

What types of powder coatings do you offer?

WANAN manufactures thermosetting powder coatings in five documented series — E epoxy anti-corrosion, EZ zinc-rich epoxy primer, and P480, P720 and P1680 weather-resistant polyesters — plus functional and decorative grades: electrical insulation, high temperature, low-temperature cure, MDF, heavy-duty anti-corrosion, bonded metallics, textures and heat-transfer base coats, across epoxy, polyester, hybrid and polyurethane chemistries.

Which product is best for outdoor furniture or aluminium profiles?

Use a weather-resistant polyester: P480, P720 or P1680 (salt spray 480 / 720 / 1000 h, xenon-arc 500 / 1000 / 1000 h). Choose by exposure — P480 for basic outdoor hardware, P720 for higher humidity or weathering, P1680 for the most demanding projects. Architectural aluminium projects that require the QUALICOAT label use the approved systems on certificates P-1436 (Class 1) and P-1982 (Class 2).

Can you match custom colours (RAL / Pantone)?

Yes. WANAN supplies RAL K7 shades and matches custom colours from a physical panel, a paint chip or a reference from another colour system such as Pantone, then issues colour panels for approval before production. Specify from a physical reference, because on-screen colours are approximate. A library of about 100,000 formulated sample panels shortens matching for repeat and near-match shades.

What finishes and textures are available?

Smooth gloss, satin and matt; sand texture, wrinkle and hammer; bonded metallics (silver, champagne, bronze and colour metallics); heat-transfer base coats and art effects. Gloss is agreed per project and measured at 60° (ISO 2813). For outdoor use, metallic and textured finishes are built on a weather-resistant polyester such as P480, P720 or P1680.

Do you have products for battery packs, EV and energy storage?

Yes. For energy-storage cabinets, EV charging stations, battery-pack housings and brackets, candidates are E (1440 h salt spray) or EZ zinc-rich primer (≥ 2000 h) for structural corrosion protection and P480 / P720 / P1680 as weather-resistant topcoats, qualified as a system on trial panels. For steel enclosures of outdoor-use electrical equipment, model WA-DQ 001A is a UL 1332 recognized coating.

FDA food-contact compliance is not part of WANAN's published certifications. If your part needs it, send the application and the regulation you must meet to the technical team, who will tell you what can and cannot be documented.

Source: All certifications

What is your quality control process?

Production runs under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. Every batch is tested in WANAN's own CNAS-accredited laboratory — appearance and colour difference, 60° gloss, particle-size distribution, gel time and cured-film properties — and ships with a certificate of analysis. Customer and third-party audits of the Zhangzhou headquarters are part of the system.

Samples & trials

Can I get samples?

Yes. Sample powder, colour-matched panels and the series TDS are supplied for line trials. Use the sample request form with the series or application, substrate, colour reference and shipping address; the technical team confirms the proposal and dispatch.

Source: Request a sample

How long does it take to receive samples?

Timing depends on whether the colour is in stock or must be matched, and on the destination. The technical team confirms the proposal and dispatch date after receiving your request; samples ship as non-hazardous goods.

Source: Request a sample

Can you send colour panels or cured sample panels?

Yes. WANAN issues colour panels — smooth, metallic and textured — for approval before production. For metallics and textures, approval panels are sprayed under production-like settings because film build and gun parameters change the final effect.

Source: Colours & finishes

Do you provide application testing support?

Yes. Trial panels or production parts are sprayed on your line with the object-temperature profile recorded, then qualified for adhesion, impact, bend, humidity, salt spray or weathering in WANAN's CNAS-accredited laboratory or in your own programme. Two-coat systems are tested as a system.

Source: Five steps from enquiry to release

I want to test several products. Can you send a sample kit?

Yes. Sample kits and colour panels covering the five documented series are prepared for distributors and key end users. Tell us which applications you want to test and the technical team will propose the candidate series.

Source: Distributors & importers

What information do you need to prepare the right sample?

The part and substrate, pretreatment, service environment (indoor, outdoor, coastal, industrial), your cure line and oven profile, colour and gloss, the standard the part must pass and the powder you use now. With this the team can propose a series and match the colour on the first sample.

Technical support

What are the recommended application parameters?

Electrostatic spray at 40–100 kV, 80–120 µm dry film, cured at 190–200 °C object temperature for 10–15 minutes. The same cure window applies to E, EZ, P480, P720 and P1680, so primers and topcoats can run on one line.

Source: Series comparison

What film thickness do you recommend?

80–120 µm dry film, with a working range of 80–180 µm on the flat panel. Thin films reduce hiding and corrosion protection, especially at edges; very thick films can orange-peel, trap gas on castings or galvanised parts and waste powder. Measure edges and recesses separately.

Source: How to measure film thickness

What substrates can your coatings be used on?

Steel, galvanised steel and aluminium, as well as MDF with dedicated MDF grades. Published test values are generated on phosphated steel panels; on other substrates and pretreatments, performance is confirmed on trial panels. Galvanised and cast substrates may need a degassing preheat or an outgassing-forgiving grade.

Source: Powder coating 101

What surface pretreatment do you recommend?

Iron or zinc phosphate on steel, chrome-free conversion coatings on aluminium, or zirconium / silane systems. Degreasing, rinsing and drying before the booth decide adhesion and corrosion life; weld spatter, oil and fingerprints show through any powder.

Source: Powder coating 101

How do I troubleshoot common defects (orange peel, pinholes, poor coverage)?

Orange peel often comes from film that is too thick — stay within 80–120 µm. Pinholes and blisters on galvanised or cast parts usually point to outgassing: add a degassing preheat or ask for an outgassing-forgiving grade. Poor coverage at edges and inside corners is the Faraday-cage effect: adjust gun settings or hanging, and measure edges separately. Under-cure shows as poor solvent resistance and low impact.

Source: How to reduce outgassing

What is the curing window? Can I use lower temperatures?

Standard series cure at 190–200 °C object (metal) temperature for 10–15 minutes — the oven set-point must be higher, and heavy parts need longer. For heat-sensitive parts or lines that want cooler ovens, WANAN develops low-temperature-cure grades against the project requirements.

Source: How to check cure

Do you offer on-site technical support or training?

WANAN's technical engineers support customer lines, including line trials with the object-temperature profile recorded. Ask the technical team about on-site support for your project.

OEM / ODM cooperation

Do you offer OEM or private-label services?

WANAN works with custom, decorative and special-effect coating brands on an OEM / ODM basis. Send your brand, target applications and volumes to the export team to discuss the scope.

Source: Distributors & importers

Can you develop a custom formulation for my specific needs?

Yes. Functional and decorative grades are developed against project requirements and supplied with their own technical data, drawing on a library of about 100,000 formulated sample panels across epoxy, polyester, hybrid and polyurethane chemistries.

Source: Functional & decorative

Who owns the formulation IP for custom-developed products?

Ownership and confidentiality of a custom development are agreed in writing with the customer before work starts. Raise it with the export team when you send the development brief.

Source: Contact

Can you customise packaging (bags, cartons, pallets)?

The standard pack is a 25 kg carton, shipped palletised for export. Other packaging or labelling requirements can be discussed with the export team per order.

Source: Distributors & importers

Can we be your exclusive distributor in our country or region?

Distributor supply starts non-exclusive with project registration, and moves to project protection as end-user trials convert. Customer assignment, project registration and price boundaries are agreed with the channel before joint development.

Source: Distributors & importers

What is the process for starting an OEM / ODM project?

Share your territory or brand, target industries and current portfolio; WANAN proposes candidate series or a development plan with TDS and SDS and the certificate pack; sample kits and colour panels go to your key customers; joint technical projects follow, with line trials and laboratory qualification before production.

25 kg cartons, palletised for export, non-hazardous for road, sea and air transport. Store cool and dry below 35 °C; shelf life is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Source: Packaging, storage & supply

What is the HS code for powder coatings?

The HS code depends on the chemistry of the grade and the import rules of your country, so it is confirmed for each grade with the quotation and shown on the shipping documents. Ask the export team for the code before you file your import declaration.

Source: Contact

Are powder coatings classified as dangerous goods for shipping?
