Who this is for
Construction and agricultural machinery OEMs and their component suppliers, transformer and power-equipment makers, industrial cabinet and metal-structure fabricators, escalator and elevator component makers, metal-processing companies and their coating subcontractors.
What buyers need to solve
- Parts face different corrosion, humidity, abrasion and outdoor environments and cannot be selected as one generic industrial powder.
- Pretreatment, substrate, weld zones and cure conditions govern adhesion and durability.
- Corrosion protection, appearance, application stability and cost must be balanced.
- Supplier changes need line-trial records and real-part evaluation to reduce risk.
Candidate series and the logic behind them
| Requirement / part | Candidate | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor or general industrial anti-corrosion | E | Neutral salt spray 1440 h (ISO 9227) |
| Heavy-duty, steel structure or primer requirement | EZ | Zinc-rich epoxy primer, salt spray ≥ 2000 h |
| Outdoor equipment topcoat, weathering and appearance | P480 / P720 / P1680 | Salt spray 480–1000 h · humidity 240–720 h · xenon-arc 500–1000 h |
| Anti-corrosion primer + outdoor topcoat | E or EZ + P series | Single-series values are not additive; system qualified on trial |
Insulation, high-temperature and low-temperature-cure grades for motors, transformers and heat-exposed parts are handled as separate functional requirements with their own data.
What is verified before release
| Test dimension | Focus |
|---|---|
| Adhesion | Substrate, pretreatment and post-cure bond |
| Corrosion | Salt spray or customer-specified corrosion test |
| Weathering / humidity | Appearance and durability change on outdoor equipment |
| System | Inter-coat adhesion and cure compatibility of primer and topcoat |
| Documents | Customer quality system, project standard and WANAN certificates |
How the introduction runs. Part, substrate, service environment and line data → candidate series and colour-matched samples → trial panels or production parts on the customer's line → tests in WANAN's CNAS-accredited laboratory (L15415) or per the customer's programme → documentation and release. See manufacturing & quality.
Frequently asked questions
What system is proposed for construction machinery frames and booms?
A two-coat system is the usual candidate: EZ zinc-rich epoxy primer (≥ 2000 h salt spray) for cathodic protection of the steel, with a P720 or P1680 weather-resistant polyester topcoat for colour, gloss and weathering. The combination is qualified on the customer's substrate and pretreatment for inter-coat adhesion, cure matching and combined-system corrosion performance before release.
Can WANAN coat transformer tanks and radiators?
Yes, for corrosion and weathering protection of tanks, radiators, housings and brackets using E, EZ and P series candidates selected by environment. Winding or electrical-insulation requirements inside transformers are a different product family — WANAN's insulating powders — and are proposed separately with dielectric data. Both can be covered in one enquiry.
Do all candidate series run on one cure profile?
Yes. E, EZ, P480, P720 and P1680 all cure at 190–200 °C object surface temperature for 10–15 minutes at 80–120 µm, so a coater can run the primer and topcoat on one line without changing the oven profile. Heavy parts need oven set-points adjusted so the metal reaches temperature; WANAN confirms this during the line trial.
