Who this is for
Refrigerator, washing-machine, air-conditioner and water-heater OEMs; appliance housing and sheet-metal component makers; professional appliance coating lines.
What buyers need to solve
- Unstable flow, hiding power, colour and gloss consistency and edge behaviour in mass production.
- Line takt, actual object temperature, film build, reclaim powder and rework control.
- Humidity, weathering and corrosion risk on outdoor units, brackets and humid-environment housings.
- Switching powder supplier affects appearance, process and quality acceptance, so introduction cost is high.
Candidate series and the logic behind them
| Requirement / part | Candidate | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor or non-UV-exposed housings, back panels, brackets | E | Neutral salt spray 1440 h (ISO 9227) |
| Air-conditioner outdoor units, outdoor brackets, humid-environment housings | P480 / P720 / P1680 | Salt spray 480–1000 h · humidity 240–720 h · xenon-arc 500–1000 h |
| High-corrosion or outdoor structural parts | E or EZ primer + P series topcoat | Two-coat system; inter-coat compatibility and cure verified on trial |
High-temperature grades for heat-exposed parts on water heaters, ovens and grills are supplied per project with their own data.
What is verified before release
| Test dimension | Focus |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Flow, hiding, colour and gloss consistency |
| Process | Transfer efficiency, film thickness, cure window, reclaim powder behaviour |
| Adhesion | Sheet metal, edges, welds and formed areas |
| Humidity / weathering | Outdoor and humid-environment parts per the customer's standard |
How the introduction runs. Part, substrate, service environment and line data → candidate series and colour-matched samples → trial panels or production parts on the customer's line → tests in WANAN's CNAS-accredited laboratory (L15415) or per the customer's programme → documentation and release. See manufacturing & quality.
Frequently asked questions
Which WANAN series is used on air-conditioner outdoor units?
P480, P720 and P1680 are the candidate series for outdoor units, casings and brackets, chosen by the humidity, weathering and cost target. P720 (720 h salt spray, 480 h humidity, 1000 h xenon-arc) is the most common starting point. The final choice is confirmed on trial panels from the customer's pretreatment and cure line.
Does WANAN's IATF 16949 certificate cover appliance parts?
The IATF 16949:2016 certificate covers the design and manufacturing of thermosetting powder coatings at WANAN. It supports supplier quality-system audits by appliance and automotive manufacturers, but it is not an approval of any specific product for a specific customer part; each part is qualified through the customer's own test and line-trial programme.
How does WANAN help reduce rework when switching powder supplier?
WANAN starts with the part, substrate, pretreatment, oven profile and current film build, then supplies colour-matched samples for a line trial. The CNAS-accredited laboratory (L15415) tests the trial panels for adhesion, impact, humidity and salt spray, and the technical team adjusts formulation or application parameters before production release.
