Cure temperature is the object surface temperature. Oven set-points must be adjusted to the part mass, line speed and oven type so that the metal itself reaches 190–200 °C for 10–15 minutes. Pretreatment must meet the agreed specification; film thickness and application method influence colour, gloss and appearance, and laboratory panels differ from production parts, so gun settings are finalised on the customer's line.
Where P480 series is used
P480 is the entry point of WANAN's weather-resistant polyester range. Polyester chemistry keeps colour and gloss under sunlight far better than epoxy, so P480 is chosen for outdoor hardware, fencing, garden and street furniture, outdoor equipment housings and exterior parts of agricultural and construction machinery where the exposure is moderate and the specification calls for a single decorative-protective coat. Where humidity, salt or UV loads are higher, step up to P720 or P1680.

Compliance & quality system
WANAN powder coatings are produced under quality, environmental and occupational-health management systems certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and the design and manufacturing of thermosetting powder coatings is certified to IATF 16949:2016. Batch testing is carried out in WANAN's in-house laboratory, accredited by CNAS (L15415) to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
SGS reports (2026) on WANAN powder coating samples show compliance with RoHS Directive (EU) 2015/863, REACH SVHC candidate list screening at ≤ 0.1 % (w/w), soluble heavy metals, and California Proposition 65 limits for lead, cadmium and phthalates. Results apply to the tested samples; see certifications & compliance for report numbers and scopes.
Colours & finishes
Full colour range including metallic shades. RAL K7 shades, custom colour matching from a sample panel, and gloss levels agreed per project (measured at 60°, ISO 2813). WANAN maintains a library of roughly 100,000 formulated sample panels, which shortens matching time for repeat and near-match colours. See colours & finishes.
Packaging, storage & supply
- 25 kg cartons; non-hazardous for road, sea and air transport.
- Store in a cool, dry place below 35 °C; 6-month shelf life from date of manufacture.
- Produced across 7 production bases in China and Southeast Asia with a group capacity of about 80,000 t/year.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose between P480, P720 and P1680?
All three are weather-resistant polyesters with the same cure window. They differ in tested durability: P480 gives 480 h salt spray, 240 h humidity and 500 h xenon-arc; P720 gives 720 h, 480 h and 1000 h; P1680 gives 1000 h, 720 h and 1000 h. Match the series to the service environment and the customer specification, then confirm on trial panels.
Is P480 available in metallic colours?
Yes. The P480 TDS lists metallic shades among the available colours. Metallic and bonded-metallic powders need the same 190–200 °C object-temperature cure, but application settings, film build and reclaim ratio affect the final effect, so WANAN supplies colour panels for approval and recommends a line trial before production.
Is P480 a QUALICOAT-certified product?
P480 is specified by the test values in its own TDS. WANAN holds QUALICOAT approvals P-1436 (Class 1) and P-1982 (Class 2) for the powder systems named on those certificates. For architectural projects that require a QUALICOAT label, ask WANAN for the approved system and its certificate rather than relying on the P480 designation.
