Beyond the standard series: functional and decorative powder coatings
WANAN develops functional and decorative thermosetting powders — electrical insulation, high temperature, low-temperature cure, MDF, heavy-duty anti-corrosion, bonded metallics, textures and heat-transfer base coats — against specific project requirements. Each grade is supplied with its own technical data; WANAN's formulation library holds roughly 100,000 sample panels across epoxy, polyester, hybrid and polyurethane chemistries.
Directions
Six product directions
Grades in these families are proposed after reviewing the part, substrate, service conditions and the customer's test requirements. Performance figures are issued per grade, not generalised across a family.
Electrical-insulation powders
Motor, battery and electrical component insulation for new-energy and industrial equipment. Dielectric and thermal-cycling data supplied per grade on request.
High-temperature powders
Heat-exposed parts on water heaters, ovens and grills, and industrial equipment operating above the range of standard polyester or epoxy films.
Low-temperature-cure powders
Grades for heat-sensitive assemblies or energy-saving cure windows below the standard 190–200 °C schedule. Stored below 25 °C.
MDF powders
Coating of medium-density fibreboard furniture and panels, where substrate outgassing and conductivity require dedicated formulation and cure.
Heavy-duty anti-corrosion powders
Grades for pipelines, energy-storage cabinets, transformers and construction machinery, qualified against the project's corrosion-protection standard.
Bonded-metallic & special-effect powders
Bonded metallics, textures, sand and wrinkle finishes, heat-transfer (sublimation) base coats and art-effect powders for building products, doors, furniture and lighting.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a TDS for the insulating or high-temperature grades?
Yes. Functional grades are matched to the part, the operating temperature or voltage and the customer's test programme, so WANAN issues the technical data for the specific grade proposed rather than publishing a generic sheet. Send the application details through the contact form and the technical team returns the grade, its data sheet and sample options.
Do textured and metallic finishes use the same cure as the standard series?
Most decorative grades cure in the same 190–200 °C object-temperature window as the E and P series, which keeps them compatible with existing lines. Bonded-metallic and heat-transfer base coats are more sensitive to film build, gun settings and reclaim ratio, so WANAN supplies colour panels for approval and recommends a line trial.
Which resin systems does WANAN formulate?
WANAN formulates epoxy, pure polyester, epoxy-polyester hybrid and polyurethane powder systems. The five documented series on this site are the epoxy E, zinc-rich epoxy EZ and weather-resistant polyester P480, P720 and P1680. Other chemistries are supplied against project requirements from a library of roughly 100,000 formulated sample panels.
